ChildAid Flashmob
On 3rd March ChildAid, in
association with Blisters Hillwalking Club, are
organising Irelands Highest ever Flashmob.
A flashmob is an event where a number of people meet at an arranged time and
place and video themselves sing and dancing to an agreed song.
ChildAid's event is taking place on Struicín Mountain in The Gap of Dunloe,
Co Kerry. With an altitude of 440 metres the event will be Ireland's highest
ever flashmob. The track participants will perform to is The Carpenters
Top of the World.
The event is a fundraiser. You can make a donation or raise sponsorship.
There is no minimum amount. Whatever you can afford or raise is fine.
Stuicin mountain is NOT a difficult climb, and is achievable for even the
most inexperienced walker. The climb will be led by ChildAid's secretary
Grahim Tobin. Graham is a member of the RDF and is one of the most
experienced trekkers in the world (he climbed Kilimanjaro over 20 times,
reached Everest BAse Camp on a dozen occasions and has also scaled Mount
Kenya, Ben Nevis and almost all of Ireland's major peaks). Kerry Mountain
Rescue are participating. As are members of the Gardai and, as Blisters
Hillwalking Club, is based in the Bon Secours Hospital, Cork there will be
plenty of first aid assistance available. We do not envisage needing this,
but it's nice to have it.
